Community activist and niece of Oscar Lopez-Rivera, Lourdes Lugo spoke yesterday at Wayne State University in a Parranda themed event sponsored by Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority , Inc, Beta Omega Chapter. After a viewing of ‘For those who struggle’, she presented to a group of about 50 students in El Salon de Nuestra Cultura and spoke on the current state of the “Free Oscar Lopez” campaign and what each person can do to help. Lourdes also revealed her personal experiences having to visit Oscar while incarcerated for the past 31 years and the tireless efforts to muster support for his release.
