Though all the material Oscar receives is subject to censorship, in the case of CLARIDAD he stated that sometimes the prison takes “from four to five days, a week, sometimes two weeks” before delivering it to him. “Usually I get it four or five days after you send it to me.”
What do you think of CLARIDAD?
“For me, CLARIDAD is the newspaper that represents independence. Some things I’m not going to agree with. There is always something good to read. I have a lot of love for CLARIDAD.”
Can you share the newspaper with other people?
“Yes, yes. There are some young Puerto Ricans here. I always pass the newspaper along to them.
Sometimes we have small discussions and we can dialogue a little about what is happening in Puerto Rico, what is happening in the world. There is always something attracts our attention.”

Aunque todo material que recibe Oscar es sometido a la censura, en el caso de Claridad indicó que a veces la prisión se toma “de cuatro a cinco días, una semana, a veces dos semanas” antes de entregárselo. “Usualmente lo recibo cuatro o cinco días después de ustedes enviármelo”.
¿Qué opinas de CLARIDAD?
“Para mí CLARIDAD es el periódico que representa la independencia. Algunas cosas no voy a estar de acuerdo. Siempre hay algo bueno para leer. Tengo mucho amor por CLARIDAD.”
¿Puedes compartir el periódico con otra gente?
“Sí, sí. Aquí hay unos muchachos puertorriqueños. A ellos yo les paso el periódico siempre. Algunas veces tenemos pequeñas discusiones y podemos dialogar un poco sobre lo que está pasando en Puerto Rico, lo que está pasando en el mundo. Siempre hay algo que llama la atención”.
