Jan Susler and Sarah Piesh Honored with Blanca Canales Medal

Jan Susler, attorney for the Puerto Rican political prisoners and Sarah Piesh were honored on February 23 during the commemoration of the Birth of Blanca Canales at Casa Museo Canales, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico. Sarah Piesh, who passed away earlier this year of ovarian cancer, was honored posthumously for her activism in defense of Vieques and social justice issues. Jan, for her unswerving support and defense of the Puerto Rican political prisoners, for the commitment and passion with which she embraces our cause, and because thanks, in part to her work, today we are able to enjoy the majority of the prisoners freedom. The National Boricua Human Rights Network adds its voice to this tribute and salutes our compañera, even while redoubling our efforts to free Carlos Alberto Torres, Oscar López Rivera and now, Avelino González Claudio.

Purchase your Reyes Magos Plate by Oscar to benefit the children of Vieques
