Batey Urbano was the site of this year’s 15th Annual Pancake Waffle Breakfast fundraiser sponsored by the Friends of the Puerto Rican Cultural Center. Over 250 people ate a delicious vegetarian breakfast and listened to videos of the Puerto Rican political prisoners, Carlos Alberto Torres and Oscar López Rivera. The audience was treated to a one scene preview of the upcoming play, Crime Against Humanity about Puerto Rican political prisoners. Those present also participated in a holiday artisans bazaar organized by the NBHRN.

MISSION

The National Boricua Human Rights Network (NBHRN) is an organization composed of Puerto Ricans in the US and their supporters that educates and mobilizes the Puerto Rican community, the broader Latin American community and other people of conscience regarding issues of justice, peace and human rights. Our priorities include: (1) An end to the continuing political repression and criminalization of progressive sectors of the Puerto Rican community; and 2) The decontamination, development, and return of the island of Vieques to its people.
